It was such a meaningful time to participate in an international exchange program and get opportunities that are not easily accessible. The experience of communicating and talking directly to people from other countries, especially Morocco, which is a little unfamiliar, has come to be a fresh and new memory. In addition, the date of the exchange was during the Ramadan period, so it was an opportunity to learn more deeply about Ramadan culture that I didn’t know well of before. Although the Internet was unstable and there were definitely many twists and turns since it was the first time, such as hearing a lot of unnecessary noise, even this came to be of great novelty and felt enjoyable. The Mystery Skype activity of guessing each other’s countries in the form of 20 questions was also really fun. When I saw that my friends from other countries, whom I didn’t know well of, knew about our country and were even learning our language, I was proud to feel the rise of Korea’s national prestige. The quality time to share and communicate about each other’s culture without restrictions on space and distance was a great opportunity to improve their knowledge as global citizens. In the next international exchange session, I want to do more different things that I didn’t experience last time.

국제교류프로그램에 참여하며 쉽게 접할 수 없는 기회를 얻게 되어 더욱 뜻깊은 시간이 되었다. 평소 자주 접할 수 없는 다른 나라, 특히 모로코와 같이 조금은 생소한 나라의 사람들과 직접 소통을 하며 대화를 나눈다는 경험 자체가 새롭게 다가왔다. 또한 교류를 했던 날짜가 마침 라마단 기간이어서 잘 몰랐던 라마단 문화에 대해 더 깊게 알 수 있었던 시간이 되기도 했다. 비록 인터넷이 불안정하고 주변의 잡음이 많이 들리는 등 처음이라서 생기는 미숙한 점들은 분명 존재했으나 이마저도 새롭고 즐겁게 다가왔다. 스무고개 형식으로 서로의 나라를 맞혀보는 Mystery Skype 활동도 정말 재미있었다. 잘 알지 못했던 타국의 친구들이 우리나라에 대해 알고 심지어 우리나라의 언어에 대해서도 학습하고 있다는 것을 보았을 땐 대한민국의 국격 상승이 느껴져 뿌듯하기까지 했다. 공간과 거리의 제약 없이 서로의 문화를 나누며 소통하는 시간이 세계시민으로서의 소양을 향상시킬 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었다. 다음 국제교류 시간에는 저번 시간에는 경험하지 못했던 색다른 것들을 더 다양하게 해나가고 싶다.
